About The Cavaliero, Bevan & Pitt Family Trees
Please sign in to see more.
Welcome to the Cavaliero, Bevan, Assus, Apsey, Dacres, Dixon & Pitt Family Tree.

Thank you to all who have contributed information.

Most of the information comes from the following research:

1. David Marcus Cavaliero - "Cavaliero Roots" document - 2005.
2. Jacky Cavaliero - "Tales of History and Imagination" - 2000 with entries from her siblings and cousins.
3. Pippa and Judy Valon (née Cavaliero) - "Family History" - 1981.
4. Janice Hill (descendant of Joseph and Marie Cavaliero, and the Apsey and Dolby families).
5. John Bell's (Gt. Gt. Gt. Grandson of John Pitt b.1791) extensive work into the Pitt Family (and others).
6. Rosemarie Briden's research into Rebecca Cavaliero's family.
7. Terry Nunn (descendant of Joseph and Marie Cavaliero).
8. Barbara McDonnell (Niece of Mary McDonnell and Roderick Cavaliero)

Any numbers you see in notes refer to the above references. e.g. (1) Refers to David Cavaliero's research.

and my own research into all branches of my family, your stories, pictures and additional facts as you send them to me.
Please send as much as you can. Thanks.

The Cavaliero research so far leads me to believe that:

Cavaliero, Victor (d.1849) and Julie Cohen are the confirmed parents of Solomon Raphael and Rebecca, but I have assumed that Elias and Daniel were also their children. They all made the journey from Crete, to Algiers and finally to the UK with some of their children being born in each country. Additionally, both Rebecca and Elias married children of Solomon & Chalom Assus.

Elias and Daniel were most likely siblings as their sons, David "Poppy" and the brothers, Joseph (1857) and Nissim (both born in Crete), have been confirmed as cousins. These four children of Victor all have similar professions, residences and family names.

For ease I have made the assumption that Cavaliero, Unknown A was the Grandfather of all the Cavaliero's in the UK in the late 1800's. Find him and you can produce a descendants chart to see everyone.

This basically then lists all the Cavaliero's in the UK on the Census for 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 & 1901. In the latter I have left out the servants Emilie, German, Michele, Nicole & Salvatore for the time being, but they do not seem to connect with anybody else.

Please email me if you have more photos, questions, comments, corrections, additions and general chat; I would love to hear from you.
